Married Homeowners

I want to properly document what has been a very complicated project. I first began converting the den of our new house from a dark hideous cave a little over a week ago. I had been researching this project for a while, had gone to a laminate installation class and finally settled on vinyl panels as our new flooring. I purchased nine 40+ pound boxes of vinyl which I loaded in and out of my cart by myself. After bringing them home and unloading them with the help of Matt's 15 minutes of "free time" before rehearsal I started pulling up heavily stained and smoke scented carpet which revealed an expected raised wood floor with unexpected random patches of broken up tile. Deciding against installing a subfloor I hauled the heavy vinyl back to Home Depot and purchased laminate instead. This time with the help of an employee. It wasn't until after I'd pried up the tacking strips that I remembered that I had heard from Deb that old floor tiles could contain asbestos. All my research and advice on what to do at this point was contradictory, so I covered the floor with the padding and today I am laying the laminate. I just cut my first piece! Wish me luck.
