I'm sorry I didn't keep up with this after my little Rambot died, but I've finally worked back up the drive. The original idea wasn't as much about documenting the wedding planning as it was supposed to be used afterwards to tell everyone about the honeymoon which many of you helped to make a reality. That, hopefully, enjoyable reading will be coming to you from June 10th-July 1st. Until then I will say a few things about the wedding itself and our "mini-moon" we enjoyed after.
The Build Up
We had dozens of people coming in from out of town. Matt's family and our friends were so wonderful to make time and spend the money to attend. I think that what I regret the most was that we didn't get to spend more time with these people. 3 of my ladies were here from other cities, one as far as Honolulu, and although I did get to see them plenty, it didn't seem like quality, stress-free time. I was on edge and anxious during the entire build up to the final event. It was only when I walked out into the Orange Show arena that I relaxed my muscles and really enjoyed it all. I'm sure that was obvious. I probably came across as snappy, grumpy and a bit delusional until the very end. At least I felt that way. I tried to keep myself reigned in.
We had so much help that we couldn't have done without. It was wonderful. Up until those final days we had had so many setbacks and problems that had pushed a lot of stuff to the last minute. Even the things I thought we were really ready for felt rushed and jumbled. It all came together though, but we couldn't have done it without you. You know who you are!

What happens at La Bare stays at La Bare. However I will say that I have even greater respect, if that's even possible, for a former boss of mine. ;)
Rehearsal & Rehearsal Dinner
Friday 3/27/09 4:00PM
We should have practiced in our heals! At least the girls should have. The Orange Show has a fairly rocky terrain. We felt ready though.
The dinner seemed to go well except for the traffic that delayed the food and some of the setup. Everyone had a place to sit and seemed to have a good time. We even had to kick everyone out early to head out to my Aunt Paula's cozy house for lady time and the traditional bride doesn't see the groom the night before the wedding thing. She provided us with tasty snacks and comfy sleeping arrangements. We made last minute jewelry, and by we I mean Marian assembled the things I had bought with the intention of assembling them. Who knew I would spend dozens of hours making broaches for the first dress only to switch to the easier ensemble that needed no broach! I slept like I was 5 years old and the next day was Christmas. I woke up dancing.
The Brunch
Saturday 3/28/09 10:30AM-1:00PM
Saturday morning there was a brunch with Matt's family at Hobbit that was perfect. Again, too many people from far away and not enough time! Matt's family is absolutely perfect. Although, I probably came across as a basket case, I did enjoy getting to know them better. Matt commented on how he was amazed with how pretty all of his cousins were. He does come from a very attractive family. I've said the same about my cousins. Well, not all of them, if I called my cousin Garrett pretty he'd probably blush profusely.

Bot
I know this is supposed to be a WEDDING blog, but this is all I can think about right now. It looks like my baby Rambo might have cancer. He needs more procedures to find out. Please send even more positive thoughts to the cute munchkin kitty who really really wants you to pet him right now but is too weak to push his way into your lap. Those of you who know him know exactly what I'm talking about.
Love,
Ashley
